The following have occurred recently:
-- Microwave broke (shoots sparks)
-- Car broke (evap valve, battery, belts, brakes)
-- iPod broke
-- Camera lost
-- 3 flat tires on the bike
-- Computer broke (corrupted files)
Plus, a consistent leak in our kitchen ceiling.
Cost for repairs:
-- Microwave: $150. Not even worth that much. New microwave: $100
-- Car: $850
-- Computer: 1 full day of restoring backups and troubleshooting
-- iPod: free. They just gave me a new one.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone had the Apple attitude?
Nissan: "Sorry about that, Zack. Here's a new Altima. Black okay?"
Landlord: "Heck, it's not worth repairing. How about you take this new beachfront condo instead?"
Computer: "Hey, Zack: I know I'm acting funny. Roll back the updates and re-install them manually. That's all you have to do."
Ha!

Car ignition + distributor. Cost: probably about the same as yours.
Snapped right humerus. Cost: Bills still coming in.
Oven. Top heating element almost fell off. Temporarily fixed. Cost: blackened fingers.
I think there's a curse on our household. Fuck it. Let's move to Mexico. At least for the winter.
seems just when you think you got things in balance a set of new variables enters the equation. it used to be that folk would lament "three steps forward, two steps back"...tend to think it is more like three steps forward, four steps to the left, two steps down, 17 steps to the right, up one step, back 4 steps, 9 steps diagonally up right, hold 3 steps, allamand left with your left hand, right to your partner now back 1.5 steps, circle right 4 revolutions, begin again.
